Dr. Pitts is the 3rd of 4 children. Her parents recently relocated to Arizona along with her younger sister and nephew. Dr. Pitts boyfriend is a therapist working with the organization Terros.
Dr. Pitts was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her father moved to Lincoln on a football scholarship to the University of Nebraska, where he participated on Nebraska’s first two National Championship teams (1970, 1971). Dr. Pitts grew up loving and playing sports and earned 10 Varsity letters in High School, 3 for volleyball, 4 for basketball and 3 for track. In 2014, she was honored to be inducted into her high school Athletic Hall of Fame (Lincoln High School Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2014).
Dr. Pitts attended the University of Tulsa on an academic scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and minors in chemistry and math. After graduating from Tulsa in 1997, she went to medical school at the University of Iowa, then to Toledo, Ohio for her pediatric residency. After residency, she joined PediatricCare in Topeka, KS where she practiced general pediatrics there for 5 years before relocating to the Phoenix area in late 2010. She practiced in an outpatient setting, before joining Good Night Pediatrics in 2013.
Dr. Pitts says a wonderful opportunity arose to get back into an outpatient clinical setting with DVP that she could not refuse, so she joined the practice in 2014.
