Julia MacKendrick was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. As soon as she could start working, she spent her breaks from school doing pediatrics-focused research or working in a pediatric primary care office as a clinical assistant. She then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Vanderbilt University, where she completed her pre-nursing coursework and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development. She then continued on to Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
She is passionate about the health and wellness of children and adolescents, and believes in creating a safe, respectful, caring, (and fun!) environment for her patients. She is currently studying medical Spanish to better connect with her Spanish-speaking patient families.
She loves hiking, running, and exploring around in her home in downtown Phoenix. She loves working with Desert Valley Pediatrics and the incredible patients and families that they serve.
